Cia. Pau Palaus is a company of clown and gesture theater created in 2014, before under the name of Contaminando Sonrisas.
The beginnings were mostly social, creating the association where they also included the professional part, and going to work in places in conflict such as refugee camps, borders, prisons, orphanages ... With Contaminando Sonrisas, we have traveled to the 5 continents to places such as refugee camps in Greece, Turkey, the Sahara, Thailand (Burma), Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Noza Zeeland ...
In 2016, the company begins to professionalize, acting mainly for France at street festivals such as Aurillac, Chalon dans la Rue, MIMA Mirepoix, and smaller ones. It is where we were invited to festivals around the world, making the show Fané Solamente (currently on tour), and performing, between 2017 and 2018, in countries such as Poland, Belgium, Russia, Romania, Korea South ... (among others).
As a company, the shows created are :
- "Le Voyage" (clown and gesture theater)
- "Fané Solamnente" (clown and gesture theater with a lot of improvisation).
At the same time, I have been woriking with :
- "Kumulunimbu" by the Cia.Ortiga (puppets and clown)
We are currently creating two new shows :
- "El Gran Final" with the company Bucraá Circus, co-production with the International Clown Festival of Cornellà 2018.
- "Refugi", creation that talks about the refugees (joining what has made me move today), under the direction of Adrian Schwarzstein and awarded by SeaChange Arts with Fair Trapezi Reus, Institut Ramon Llull and Institut of Baleary Studies.
